Organization of teaching

The Master's degree in Robotics, Automation and Electrical Engineering is structured in two tracks:

  • Robotics and Automation;
  • Electrical Engineering.

The course is taught mainly in Italian but several subjects are taught in English and the corresponding exams are taken in English. Good command of the language is therefore required in both Italian and English. Both tracks are inherently multidisciplinary, so it is necessary to possess basic knowledge, skills and abilities spanning almost all areas of industrial engineering and information engineering. For this reason, there are homogenisation courses, provided mainly in the first year, which enable all graduates of the Italian degree classes L-8 and L-9, or their foreign equivalents, to acquire the knowledge and skills required for more advanced courses.
For the characterising educational activities, alongside the courses indicated as compulsory, it is necessary to identify within guided lists the courses that enable graduates to acquire knowledge, skills and abilities in specific areas of robotics, automation or electrical engineering, thus orienting their training path according to the professional skills they wish to acquire.
Finally, with the appropriate choice of related and supplementary courses, the graduate incorporates into his or her training the knowledge, skills and abilities that complement the characterising educational activities. In detail, related and supplementary educational activities may include teaching in the fields of robotics, mechanics, automation, electricity, computer science, electronics, biomedicine, measurement, mathematics and related applications.
The study course also provides for laboratory activities both within the subjects themselves and of the 'project work' type, for which the students are required to write papers aimed at demonstrating their mastery of the topics relating to specific subjects in their syllabus, as well as their ability to work independently and with a good level of communication.
